FITPASS lets you workout at any gym listed in their network, which includes thousands of gyms in several cities in India. Prominent gym chains that are part of the FITPASS network include Gold’s Gym, Snap Fitness and Reebok Crossfit.
FITPASS allows its members to work out when they want and more importantly where they want. It is basically a fitness network that lists thousands of gyms and fitness studios. Anyone who wants to workout has to select a gym, choose the desired workout, and book an appointment.
Their app is available on web, Android and iOS. You need to create an account and opt for monthly or quarterly subscription to be able to access the gyms.
FITPASS helps gyms and fitness centres increase their utilisation rates and earn additional revenue. FITPASS also sells nutritional and health supplements besides sportswear and athletic merchandise via its marketplace.
FITPASS was started by siblings Akshay Verma and Arushi Verma in June 2015 and the main intention behind the enterprise was to make going to the gym economical and convenient. The founders started FITPASS with an initial investment of Rs 20 lakh, put since then, the co-founders have raised more money to fund its expansion.
“Gyms and fitness studios charge a year’s fee up front, can get monotonous, and become inconvenient due to fixed schedules and lengthy travel times. Workout was just not working out for people. So we decided to do something about it. We wanted our offering to work out for everybody and now they have a wider variety of options to pick. We began by offering monthly plans for Rs 2,499, and now we offer quarterly plans for the same amount. We plan to expand our bouquet of offerings with the launch of new verticals, and have just come out with a nutrition service for our customers,” says Akshay an alumnus of Oxford and Columbia University.
Despite the company’s claim that members get unlimited access to gyms, it seems there is a limit on the number of sessions you can do at a particular gym within a particular period, as mentioned here. So that is something that you should get clarified with their sales team.
This concept is already in use in other countries, and a company by the same name is operational in America (Mexico).
