Why its so important to find a hungry market, if you want to succeed with making money online.
When it comes to making money online, there are various ways to do it, and you’ll find gurus recommending various approaches – go after your passion, look for keywords with so many number of searches, and so on.
Although its possible to make money with all those approaches, you’re very likely to make some good money (dependent on several things) if your niche is in a market that also happens to be a hungry market – where people are ready to spend!
As a marketer, it’s your JOB to be on the lookout for hungry markets, find a solution to their problems and offer it to them.
Doing this correctly means you can make the same amount of money owning just a handful of websites, as opposed to trying to do the same from hundreds of blogs.
Make Good Money
Few years back, when I saw the commercial for an exercise program called P90X (ever heard of it?), I was totally mesmerized by what they had to offer.
A quick online research revealed that most of the websites out there were lame reviews sites, just rehash of the content on the product official website.
Without wasting any time, I ordered the product so that I could write my REAL experiences with it, found a suitable domain name and started working on the site RIGHT AWAY! Within 30-days, I was making money from the website!
Though times have changed, and its now difficult to rank exact-match domains (EMDs), the fact remains that if you’re targeting a hungry market, you can make good money.
How to Find Them?
There are several tools that you could use to find these markets. You also need to keep your eyes & ears open to see what’s popular at local mall, or what’s being promoted on the television and newspapers, to get more ideas.
You need to understand that most people go online:
- To be entertained;
- To find information
Obviously, we are NOT interested in the first category.
Even in the segment looking for information, there are sub-categories of information seekers:
- Those looking for generic information (wikipedia type of information)
- Information gathering (pre-purchase, price comparisons etc.)
- Solution seekers (to some “immediate problem”, these are the “desperate buyers”)
Once again, we are NOT interested in the first category.
The other two categories are the ones desirable to our business, and we need to help them SOLVE their “problem”.
Keyword Modifiers to Look For?
Here are some words that you should look at when trying to find these markets. Though this is not an exhaustive list, it’ll definitely give you an idea of how to find these niches.
Start by putting these keywords into Google, or your favorite keyword tool, and see what comes up. Do you like any of these niches? Do you feel confident enough to get started on one of these?
I would expect topics related to weight Loss, pets, dating & relationships, to be there as these are some of the evergreen markets out there. Even though there are many who would say that these markets are very competitive, and should be avoided because it would take ages to rank your pages and so on, the fact is that its competitive because there’s money to be made.
Once you have done the preliminary investigation, you can further confirm that on “Google Insights” that gives you the latest info on what Google sees as important.
That’s it! So start find some Hungry Markets right away and get your online business started!
