Have you ever wondered how some people are so good at keeping their house, office (and studio) clean? It may seem overwhelming to some who are not naturally inclined towards housekeeping but it is definitely not so hard that you can’t learn your way through it.
The first step to go about with cleaning is to learn the basics such as – cleaners, detergents, powders, etc. You also need to keep in mind some points that you can avoid while cleaning, such as:
- Do not use water if you have wooden flooring in any part of the house. Water will damage your beautiful flooring over a period of time. If you must, you could use a slightly damp cloth to clean it instead. Use or avoid water if possible on both wooden and laminated floors.
- Many people tend to polish their wooden furniture for them to look new and shiny. But too much use of polish can cause very noticeable smears and marks. Stick to using clean cloth to clean your furniture every day and save the polish for special occasions only.
- No matter how careful you are, spill overs happen occasionally. You may spill some food or drink on the carpet or upholstery and our first response is usually to rush and scrub it with water. Instead, try using a tissue paper or a dry towel to blot out the stain. You could also keep the stained item in a bucket of water and detergent and try the blotting technique again.
- If you plan on cleaning your windows to scrub off the dust, do so after the sun has set and before it rises the next day. The harsh rays of the sun can cause the cleaning liquid to create streaks on the glass. So, if you want to avoid it, clean after sunset.
