There is a growing trend among Chinese mothers to hide their C-section scars with tattoos. One Shanghai artist offers free tattoos to help women regain confidence in their bodies, after birth.
“Whenever you try to reach for something your belly is exposed. It’s not nice looking,” says Wang, a Chinese mother, who replaced her caesarean birth mark with a kitten tattoo.
And going by the demand, it seems Chinese women think tattoo is a great way to cover-up the cesarean section scars.

Many believe that this created a niche market for creams, makeup and plastic surgery that will hide the four to six inch scars that is usually left behind due to cesarean delivery.
China has one of the highest C-section rates in the world.
