Buying mens yoga pants, here’s what you need to know before you step into the yoga ring.
Yoga has completely changed the fitness and health world – and that too in just a few short decades. While previously percieved as a women’s sport, now more than ever, men are beginning to realise the benefits of yoga.
More and more men are taking to yoga. but before you step into a yoga class, you need to wear an appropriate apparel. The intricate yoga positions will require you to wear something more comfortable and flexible. You do not want to be worried about your clothes when you are trying to center your mind with yoga.
But with a thousand different fashionable yoga clothing options out there for women, men can be forgiven for thinking it’s just slacky-dacks and t-shirts for them. Male or female, your yoga clothing has to allow you to move with ease – and without flopping and falling around whenever you attempt an inversion.
For men, one of the hardest things to get right is men’s yoga pants. Sometimes it seems like the only options are baggy, tie-died, flower-power hippy-dippy drawstring pants, or skin-tight, ultra-shiny, body-hugging lycra – which, if no one’s ever told you lads, is downright scary in some of those positions!
But it’s not all that bad. There are now a number of designers and manufacturers producing quality and stylish mens yoga pants that are practical and, dare I say it, not too yoga-ish.
Yoga pants for men allow your legs to breathe, do not impair your movement, and do not reveal anything.
Mens yoga pants are available in different styles and you will surely be able to find something that suits your needs. You could even find a pair that is in between shorts and pants – these are called three-quarters pants. Other mens yoga clothing often includes a t-shirt that can be loose or tight fitting. You will not need shoes or socks so you won’t have to worry about those.
Just wear a yoga pant with comfortable t-shirt and you are good to go with your yoga session.
Check out brands such as prAna, Anjali, Be Present, and Go Softwear AJ. Quite a lot of them are organic, or fair-trade, or something feel-good and responsible like that. But they don’t scream hippy!
Barefoot Yoga is a small company from Seattle. They have a great range, but they also have a very friendly phone support line to help you sort out styles and sizes. They’re a great little company and really worth supporting. It’s just fabulous that their products are also well-priced and designed to last.
