California based walnut growers to launch a mega campaign in India to educate people about the nutritional benefits of the ‘king of nuts’.
Indians are becoming fitness conscious, and considering the population size, India indeed becomes a lucrative market for any company that wishes to enter the market.
With the same objective, an umbrella organisation of over 4,000 walnut growers from California have decided to roll out a mega campaign in India to educate people about the nutritional benefits of the ‘king of nuts’ and to promote walnut as a health product.
India, China, Germany and Japan are the top export markets for California walnut growers, and considering India’s robust economic growth, they have decided to focus more on India.
The commission is hoping for around 25 to 30 per cent growth in supplies in the next five years, with more and more Indians trying to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
The campaign will reach out to the following:
- Target bakeries, restaurants and food chains, and encourage them to add walnut as an ingredient in their product lines to enhance their overall health benefits.
- Reach out to the medical fraternity and fitness professionals to educate them about the benefits of walnut consumption.
- The commission (in collaboration with Indian publisher) has also published an infotainment comic to make children aware about the benefits of having walnuts in their daily diet.
